Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you so much for your support and understanding this week when many of our class bubbles had to begin self-isolation. I understand how difficult and frustrating this is and was pleased to hear the changes to government policy from September.
In the meantime, as cases of Covid-19 continue to double each week in Gateshead, I urge you not to rely on lateral flow tests if your child is displaying any symptoms. In order to protect our wider school community, please ensure any family member displaying symptoms of Covid-19 has a full PCR test. Thank you.
As outlined in my update last week, our aim is to return to as normal a school day as possible in September. However, you will notice a change to our office staff.
Miss Heron has been successful in her application to pursue a career in nursing and will sadly be leaving us at the end of July. I am sure you will join me in congratulating her on this exciting opportunity. There is no doubt that Miss Heron will be greatly missed by all of us. That said, I know she will thrive in this incredible new adventure.
I hope you have a great weekend, particularly all you England fans out there!
Yours sincerely,
Mrs A Whistler
Headteacher
