Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for your support and encouragement with the news of my secondment to Gibside School in the autumn term. As our chair of governors said in his letter to parents this week, it is a unique opportunity to learn from each other and share all the wonderful things about both schools.
There was another exciting development in school this week. Miss Wilson, who is currently our English leader and Year 4 teacher, has been appointed as an assistant headteacher at Kells Lane from this September. I’m sure you will join me in congratulating Miss Wilson on her promotion.
I have had a couple of queries about our dressing up day at the end of this term. The general theme of the Royal Mail competition is about honouring the heroes of the coronavirus pandemic. However, I have invited our children to come to school dressed as any hero they choose. Some children may wish to choose a hero from history or their favourite superhero. All heroes will be welcome on the day!
