Friday Bulletin – 9th June 2017

9 June 2017

Dear Parents and Carers,

We held our Kells Lane School Council election this week. The current school councillors received lots of applications from enthusiastic Year 5 children and had the unenviable task of shortlisting just eight candidates. They have asked me to thank everyone who applied for the posts and to congratulate them on extremely well written and persuasive applications.

On Wednesday, the eight applicants made their final pitch to the rest of the school and the children voted for a maximum of four candidates. Everyone who took part in the day commented on the quality of presentations delivered by each of the eight candidates; the children had some really difficult decisions to make.

Once all the votes were cast in our ballot boxes, the current school councillors counted the votes and announced the names of the children who will be taking over from them in September. Again, I would like to congratulate all the children who took part, and welcome Jack, Anya, Emily and Cammy to the role of school councillor for 2017-2018. Mrs King and I would also like to thank Oliver, Eadie, Andrew and Georgia for their outstanding contribution to school life during their time in post.

I will be taking Year 6 on their long awaited residential trip to the Netherlands next week. Keep an eye on our website for updates and photographs of our children enjoying the Dutch culture and lifestyle.

Have a good weekend.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs A Whistler
