This week we hosted a welcome meeting for parents of our new Early Years children. It’s hard to believe we’re getting ready for September already; it will be here before we know it! Thank you to everyone who came along; we enjoyed meeting you, and are looking forward to meeting your children at the taster sessions in a couple of weeks. As many of you will know, our transition to ‘big school’ used to take up to four weeks to complete. Parental feedback suggested this was difficult to manage, and that the children were ready for full days sooner. We have listened to your feedback and have shortened the transition period significantly this year. Full details are available in your pack and from the school office.
Many of the children in Year 6 have a busy weekend ahead as they prepare for our residential trip to Holland. We depart on Monday afternoon and will be back again on Saturday morning. I’m sure you will agree this is quite an adventure; I look forward to sharing our fun with you in a future bulletin and newsletter. Miss Nagle will be available should you need to get in contact in my absence.
The children took part in a pupil voice survey recently. I wanted to collect their opinions on what’s going well in school, and to gather their suggestions on how our school could be even better. I will share some of the outcomes with you in my next bulletin.
Have a good weekend.
Mrs A Whistler
