Staff changes

Miss Gray, a Reception teacher, is leaving us to head to New Zealand and Mrs Norton, one of our school cleaners, will be retiring in the summer.  Both Miss Heath and Miss Blogg are due to be married over the summer term and return to us in September as Mrs Harmer (5H) and Mrs Robertson (3R).  As a school, we send all of them our very best wishes for the future. We will also be welcoming back Mrs Hewitson in September as she finishes her local authority secondment.

Year 6

It is once again time to say farewell to our Year 6 pupils.  They will be embarking on new adventures, going to their new secondary schools and making new friends.  I have to congratulate them on their hard work; they have received some super SATs results and should be very proud of their achievements this year.  Well done!  We wish them all well and look forward to hearing about their future successes.

Dates

The children's last day in school is Thursday 22nd July, (Friday is a staff training day).  First day of the autumn term is Tuesday 7th September, (Monday is a staff training day).

As we come to the end of another academic year I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincerest thanks to you all for your support this year.

Have a relaxing summer holiday and we hope to see you all back feeling refreshed in September.

Tuesday 20th July - Reserve sports afternoon

|
Unfortunately due to the rain over the last 24 hours, the condition of the field/grass means that sports afternoon will not take place today.

Monday 19th July - Sports afternoon cancelled

|

Today's sports afternoon has been cancelled due to the weather and ground conditions.

There might be a chance that it can go ahead tomorrow afternoon but heavy rain is forecast for tonight.  We will keep you updated.

Many, many thanks to the parents who, armed with snow shovels and spades, braved the cold and dreary afternoon to help clear the playground of snow and ice - your help is very much appreciated by staff and pupils.  It was hard work but we managed to clear a large section of the yard.

It means that tomorrow, children will be able to line up as usual and get out for some fresh air at break times.  Fabulous!

I'm hoping that the rest of the snow will thaw really quickly!
