Geography

Through geography the children explore the world in which they live. They are encouraged to observe, plan, map and investigate the school environment as well as comparing it with a contrasting locality. The children also discover the physical characteristics of their own area, examining land use, environmental issues and changes which are man-made or natural. The children build on their bank of geographical skills and apply these within their topic work. Fieldwork in Year 6 is undertaken during the annual residential visit to Winmarleigh Hall.
