Complaints In primary schools, most issues can be handled informally by the class teacher. This is normally done by telephoning school, to talk the issue through or arrange an appointment. If a parent is unhappy or would like to discuss the matter further then we advise that they contact the Headteacher or another member of the management team. The Local Authority does have an agreed complaints procedure, which is that any complaint should first be taken up with the designated Complaints Officer, Miss Nagle. However if any parent or guardian who has been unable to resolve an issue with a school, and considers that the council has not maintained a high enough standard of service, they may write to: Pupil and Parent Services Dryden Professional Centre Evistones Road Low Fell Gateshead NE9 5UR setting out the complaint. The letter will be acknowledged and a full response made, following any necessary investigations within 28 working days. |
