Art

This involves the development of visual skills, knowledge and understanding, making and investigating along with art appreciation. The children experience a variety of techniques and skills. In lessons they have the opportunity to select from and use a wide range of materials while learning about traditions, famous artists and celebrated pieces. Art is taught, in line with the subject policy, as a separate subject where a new skill or craft is to be introduced, but can sometimes be taught as part of topic work where appropriate.
