Physical Education is an essential element of the National Curriculum concerned with the development of physical skills, knowledge and understanding in: athletics, creative movement and dance, gymnastics, games, athletics, outdoor and adventurous activity and swimming in Years 2/3. Physical Education contributes to the overall education of the children in our care by developing awareness and attitudes towards the benefits that physical activity has on health and well being.
Participation
Physical Education is an integral part of the school curriculum and all children are expected to participate unless there is a verified medical reason for not doing so.
PE Kit
- This should be clearly labelled, stored in a named PE bag and taken home to be washed each Friday.
- Sand shoes/trainers and sports socks
- Sports shorts (not long, leisure style) and tee-shirt/sports shirt.
In the event of cold weather children may bring jogging pants/tracksuit bottoms and sweatshirt to wear over their shorts and tee-shirt for outdoor activities only.
Long hair must be tied back for all PE activities. This applies to both boys and girls.
